The Algiers Point Association has received a grant from the Algiers Economic Development District to complete a project that is designed to increase tourism and marketing of the West Bank.

Hydrologist: No flood danger for Lower Mississippi

Neighbors help avert fire damage to library
Someone apparently tried to set fire to the library last week, but quick attention from neighbors who promptly alerted firefighters prevented serious damage.

Temporary location for library sought
The search is under way in Algiers Point for a temporary location for the Cita Dennis Hubbell Library, which closed May 24 after city officials discovered that the roof was in danger of collapsing.
